Nestled in the quiet countryside of South Down, The Goat House Retreat offers an environment perfect for peaceful contemplation.
We have five rooms serving as accommodation for eight people. These are linked to a historic stone barn which has been restored to a high specification and features original stonework and a beautiful vaulted ceiling. It serves as a lounge which can accommodate 14 loungers, and a separate fully equipped kitchen.
Additionally, the purpose-built yoga studio can accommodate up to 18 Yoga mats, with ample space in between, or it can be reconfigured for many other activities.
Our stylish rooms blend modern industrial design with the cozy warmth of underfloor heating. Vaulted ceilings create a spacious feel, while our outdoor areas—from the grassy courtyard to the fields and wooded spaces with free-ranging hens and goats—connect you back to nature.

Stone Barn & Courtyard
Great for wellness getaways, coaching events and everything in between. The Stone Barn accommodates 14 loungers and diners who can enjoy some offline time by dipping into a wide array of books and old school board games!
It’s also a great space for corporate away days where a change of environment can inspire creative and innovative ideas.
Studio
Housed within a dutch-style farm shed, this purpose-built Yoga studio can accommodate 18 Yoga mats with a generous 1m space between them.
The studio is replete with equipment and the acoustics are ideal for sound baths. The sound of birdsong outside is a bonus! Its use isn’t restricted to Yoga however, and would be ideal for any number of wellness-based activities.
Accommodation
We can accommodate up to eight overnight guests, making it ideal for small groups and intimate gatherings. The accommodation boasts industrial style decor, comfortable furnishings, and all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay.

The idea for The Goat House was born out of a need for more retreat-friendly spaces. These are just some of the reasons we think you’d love our venue for your retreat:
Exclusive use of the whole site - no need to share the space with other hotel guests or adhere to a spa’s own schedule.
Separate spaces for separate activities - no more Yoga in the lounge.
You’re not staying in someone’s house - this is a purpose-built boutique style space, not a converted home.
We have the kit - Mourne Yoga is located on site so we have Yoga / meditation kit for 20 people, which means you don’t have to cart your own all the way here, and nor do your guests.
We’re on a small-holding - we’re not playing at being in nature. Our hens free range, the eggs you eat are theirs, our goats chew the cud in the field and they love a tickle behind the ears if you want to hang out with them.
